Neighborhoods along the growing Marksheffel Rd area feature beautiful homes amidst a prairie setting with a backdrop of the Rocky Mountains. The median price of homes here is a very affordable $202,400 and there is currently a population of about 24,150 in the area. These neighborhoods are part of one of the original frontier ranches in the area, the Banning-Lewis ranch to the north and Claremont Ranch to the south, and are located in the grassland between Colorado Springs and Falcon.
There is a lot to do in these neighborhoods as they feature commercial spaces, open space and greenbelts, parks and trails. The new Jimmy Camp Creek Open Space is located just to the southeast, as well as Corral Bluffs a little farther out, featuring trails winding through colorful sandstone monoliths. The Centerpiece of this area is the stunning Banning-Lewis Ranchhouse where they hold community events and corporate meetings as well as pools and fountains for the kids to run through.
Peterson AFB is conveniently located just south of Claremont Ranch and Shriever is close as well. Marksheffel is the main road through this area. Hwy 24 to the south provides access to Downtown Colorado Springs, N. Carefree, Barnes and Stetson Hills all provide access to nearby Powers area shopping, restaurants and an IMAX Theater. Woodmen Rd to the north provides access to hospitals, N. Academy area shopping, as well as I-25.
Most of the students in this area attend either Sandcreek High School in District 11 or Falcon High School in Falcon District 49. The Banning-Lewis Ranch Academy, a K-8 public charter school, is also located here. Opened in 2006, the BLRA offers students performance-based education, high academic standards, gifted and talented programs, as well as the nationally acclaimed Paragon Curriculum.
The Marksheffel area offers residents beautiful homes, parks, access to military bases and first rate education. That is why this is a great area to raise a family and call home.
