Downtown Colorado Springs is the very pulse of the Pikes Peak Region. Central to everything this great city has to offer, this is the place to be. Condos and Lofts in this area begin around 50K, while single family homes here begin in the low 100's and ranges up to 250k and ranges up to the 600's. Most of the homes here were among the first built in the city and feature many custom upgrades and modern makeovers. Live music shows and other live events are frequent at the Colorado Springs City Auditorium, while America the Beautiful Park offers summertime farmer's markets and a quick cool-off in the impressive Julie Penrose Fountain. The Pikes Peak Greenway runs along Fountain Creek to the west, which is the backbone of the impressive Colorado Springs Trails Network and which many other bike paths branch off from.
Downtown is also very centrally located to area amenities and military bases. Just to the South on Nevada Ave is a Safeway grocery store, as well as the Broadmoor Towne Center which features a 24-Hour Fitness, Lowes, Gordmans, Panera Bread and many other shops and restaurants. To the north, Bon Shopping Center features a Safeway Grocery Store, Ace Hardware and a number of other smaller shops. I-25 runs to the west of Downtown, providing easy access to the Air Force Academy and Fort Carson, both of which are only about a fifteen to twenty minute drive.
Colorado Springs School District 11 serves Downtown. As the largest district in the city, D11 offers parents and Students the most academic choices in addition to a challenging and innovative curriculum. Students here attend Palmer High School.
